The 23-year-old para-medical student was shifted out of Safdarjung Hospital to Medanta Hospital in New Delhi.

There had been rumours earlier that the survivor could be shifted to Medanta Hospital in New Delhi soon. However, the government had also said earlier that she could be sent out of country for treatment on their expenses. Reportedly, some relatives of the survivors were issued visas to accompany her to Singapore for further treatment.

Safdarjung hospital sources said the physiotherapy student was being shifted to Singapore. The name of the hospital was not known immediately.

Sources said the girl, who is on ventilator support since she was admitted to Safdarjung hospital on December 16 after she was gang-raped in a moving bus in South Delhi, was being taken in a special chartered plane.

The condition of the girl had deteriorated and she was placed on ventilator with grave injuries in the stomach and intestines after she was brought to the hospital eleven days ago. She bore signs of having been beaten with a blunt object.

The incident took place on last Sunday night when the girl along with her male friend, who is an engineer and currently working in a firm, took a White Line bus from Munirka in south Delhi to Dwarka at around 10.00 pm.

During the journey, the girl was allegedly gand raped by a group of five to six men and even assaulted her when she resisted their attempt. The victim's friend was also beaten up and both were thrown off the bus near Mahipalpur flyover an hour later.
